Click the drop down arrow to the right of the file tabs in the IDE. Select 'New Tab' and then name the file.
You can add .h, .c and .cpp files just as you would in other C or C++ environments
Add Existing File
Copy into the projects folder. Close the sketch and then re-open, the new files should be there as a tab.
